To be honest, there wasn’t much adapting for me, because I was already introverted. One thing the pandemic DID do for me, though, is show just how easy it is to push people to the brink of chaos. I mean, why were people buying baskets full of toilet paper? It reminded me of the 100s of cars backed up at gas stations after 9-11. When something happens beyond our control, to be honest, people go crazy!

That’s one of the reasons we decided to buy this little farm and leave the rat race behind. The pandemic caused us to decide to slow down and enjoy life. It’s too short to run around stressed all the time. Sitting in traffic for hours at a time. And besides that, if something major even worse than the pandemic does ever happen, I don’t think the movie “Leave the World Behind” was too far out in left field.

No, I’m not a doomsday prepper, but I do think we need to rely a little less on technology and society for all our needs. People need to learn to be more self sufficient just in case something worse ever did happen. Getting in a fight to the death over the last tomato doesn’t sound appealing to me. So, start learning how to grow tomatoes now. You’ll thank me later.
